1) Set up a business profile and apply through the GUST platform (link at bottom)
2) Subsequently agree to the terms and conditions of investment at 49SAF.com

Best fit applicants:

•Can demonstrate growing their debt and equity financing ten times in five years (10x leverage)
•Create significant economic impact within Anchorage
•Scale quickly and communicate an exit strategy

Requirements:

•Fully complete the online application (includes a $100 fee).
•Be physically located within the Municipality of Anchorage. Exceptions are rare and hinge on economic benefit to the city. Contact us.
•Comply with the Investee Certification for Use of Proceeds (exclusions include that a business does not earn money through: passive real estate investment, speculation, price fluctuation, gambling, public utilities, lending unless a CDFI)
•Have fewer than 750 employees.
•Have no principals who are ineligible persons
(ex: convicted of a felony, sex offense against a minor, engaged in criminal activity, etc.; see Investment Requirements and Prohibitions, Sec. II,)
•Understand that 49SAF does not provide grants, but investments. In return for its financing the Municipality of Anchorage may potentially own part of your business, and like other investors expect its eventual "exit" and return on this investment through the sale of solely its interest, the entire enterprise, or via another exit strategy. 49SAF requires quarterly and annual reporting of investees, and board observation.
